The Forum Algarve has partnered with the Portuguese League Against Cancer for a “Health Under the Magnifying Glass” day, offering free skin and oral cancer screenings promoted by the association itself.

The screenings will take place on July 5th, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM and from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Both screenings are free and open to the entire community. However, to secure your slot, we kindly ask that you register in advance. If you are unable to book, there may still be an opportunity to be seen, depending on availability at the time.

Although the screenings are open to the general public, we strongly recommend that the following groups attend:

Skin Cancer Screening:

1. Individuals over 50 years old;
2. Those with a family history of skin cancer;
3. People with more than 50 moles or skin marks;
4. Individuals with fair skin and light-colored eyes;
5. Professionals whose occupation involves sun exposure.

Oral Cancer Screening:

1. Smokers aged 40 or older;
2. Individuals experiencing pain, lesions, color changes, or alterations in the oral mucosa;
3. People with unusual swelling in the mouth or upper airway structures;
4. Individuals referred by their family doctor.

Throughout the day, we will also have activities for children to promote healthy habits and raise awareness among the younger generation about the importance of sun protection, especially during the summer.
