FARO | ALGARVE

In Faro there is much to explore and discover, but Faro is also a great starting point to reach other parts of the Algarve, since it is here that the International Airport of Faro – Gago Coutinho is located.

As you travel across the Algarve, from the eastern to the western part, you will be able to appreciate different and beautiful landscapes, get to know unique traditions and come into contact with very particular ways of being and speaking.

The Algarve coastline is very varied, with steep cliffs, extensive sandy beaches, jagged lagoons, salt marshes and other dune formations.

The barrocal is a transitional area between the coast and the mountains, consisting of limestone and schistose rocks. Also known as “beira-serra”, this area is the main supplier of agricultural products in the Algarve, such as medronho (strawberry tree), honey and dried fruit such as almonds and carobs.

Many people link the Algarve to its beaches, but, curiously, the mountainous area occupies 50% of the territory. This area is formed by schist and some granitic rocks. The main mountain ranges are the Serra do Espinhaço de Cão, the Serra de Monchique and the Serra do Caldeirão or de Mú.

The geographical position of the region gives it a temperate climate, with Mediterranean characteristics, with more than 3 000 hours of sunshine per year and little rainfall.

A walk through the Algarve is also a pretext for a journey back in time, to meet the countless testimonies of peoples and cultures which, throughout history, have crossed paths with the region. From the Roman presence to the long Muslim heritage, from the Christian reconquest to the epic of the Portuguese explorations, there is no shortage of reasons to rediscover signs of a remarkable historical past.

Wi-fi

Do you like to be connected at all times? At Forum Algarve the Wi-Fi is free throughout the shopping centre, through the ‘Forum Algarve free WiFi’ network.

ATM CRYPTOCURRENCIES

Forum Algarve was the first shopping centre in the country to have a cryptocurrency ATM, in partnership with Mind the Coin! To purchase your coins (Bitcoin, Litecoin or Monero), just go to level 0, next to the ACP shop.

LOCKERS AND LUGGAGE ROOM

Forum Algarve has a free locker service and a luggage room to store small and large-sized bags and luggage. To use them, simply ask at the Information Desk on Level 0.

FLIGHT INFORMATION

At the information desk and in the restaurant area, there are screens connected to Faro International Airport with information about departures and arrivals in real time, so that you can make Forum Algarve your “waiting room”.

PRINT YOUR BOARDING PASS

If you are on holiday and need to print your boarding pass, you can do it for free at our Information Counter, located on Level 0.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

At the Information Desk in Forum Algarve you can buy train tickets and tickets for urban and interurban buses.

CURRENCY EXCHANGE SHOP
